Mission
OMSA-HCA is dedicated to
providing education and information services, while developing and maintaining
the highest standard of professionalism for our members and our Association.
We strive to encourage close liaison among our health care associates and
all related health care personnel.
Objectives
Your
success as a health care worker depends upon your efforts to expand your
knowledge and to keep up to date on rapidly changing office procedures
and technology. The OMSA-HCA is a provincial organization dedicated to
the professional advancement of workers in the health care field.
We will help you to achieve your goals.
The
OMSA's aims are to expand the knowledge base and skills of health care
employees and to make them indispensable to their employers. We serve
to equip health care workers with the necessary communication skills in
order to maintain excellent public relations.
Our
goals include ensuring that health care workers in the Province of Ontario
have access to the same benefits that are available to employees in business
offices. The OMSA-HCA strives to provide opportunities for healthcare
employees to meet, socialize and share experiences with all healthcare
related professionals.
Governance
Formed
in 1959, the OMSA-HCA is a member-controlled Association with branches
throughout Ontario. Each branch has an elected official in the House
of Representatives, the governing body of the Association.
The
House elects an Executive, consisting of President, Past President, 1st
and 2nd Vice-President, and Secretary and Treasurer.
Under
the direction of the Executive and the House of Representatives, an Administrator
- located at the head office in Toronto - conducts the affairs of the Association.
