Testimonials
Look at what some have said about the
Association:
“The minimal membership fee will pay for itself many times over in increased
efficiency and productivity. Regular educational seminars are offered on
topics pertinent to your office practice. Informal "networking" at monthly
meetings invariably yields useful tips and tricks which benefit your practice
efficiency. Moreover, your secretary will appreciate many benefits of membership,
including access to discounted home and car insurance among others.”
“I've noticed a difference since I began paying my secretary's OMSA dues.
Her knowledge base has expanded, the accuracy and efficiency of her work
has increased, and her sense of being a valued member of the practice management
teams is reflected in everything she does. I don't need to worry about
the "front office" anymore.”

"I just wanted to let you know
that my husband, Frank, hired a secretary this week. The secretary was found
thanks to your website, and she is a member of your organization. Her name is
Shirley, and we are thrilled to have her. We did put an add in the Star as
well, but the applicants were not qualified as a whole. Maybe one or two were
pseudo qualified. Anyhow, thanks very much for all your help, and let us know
if you require anything from us in the future."

"I filled the position today
with your applicant, K.D. I'm grateful for all your kind help during the
search process."
"I will gladly recommend
your service to my colleagues who are seeking staff and will also keep you in
mind for my future staffing needs."
"Thanks again for your help."

"Good Morning!"
"I would just like to let you know that I got the job for a Medical
Transcriptionist posted on your website. I haven't started yet, but Dr. C.
already spoke with me last week and confirmed that I got the job. I am so
thankful that I joined OMSA. The work that is being offered to me is work from
home, which is the kind of part-time job that I've been looking for as I am
working full-time here at the hospital. The work will be picked up and drop
off to their office. I'm really so happy and excited that I got the job.
Anyway, I am so glad I joined OMSA and was able to get the kind of
part-time job that I really like and I am so blessed to work for Dr.T. a very
nice young MD.

"Thank you
again. I find the OMSA-HCA website very useful and will continue to use it
throughout my career as a Medical Secretary."

"I have just viewed the new web page of OMSA-HCA. It is very
professional and convincing. I am proud to tell everybody that I am a member
of it."
"Thank you very much for providing my information to the SMS Clinic. A
lady left me a message today and asked if I am interested in a job
opportunity. However, I have started working for Dr.K, a neurologist, since
last Tuesday. I should have informed you earlier. I feel so sorry about
this."
"I am so happy that I did not have much difficulty in getting this job.
I believe that the designation of CMS coupled with being a member of
the OMSA-HCA made my resume stand out from the others."
"Your encouragement and support are greatly appreciated. Thank you
again."

“Although I had taken the medical secretary course at Conestoga College,
I felt that taking the CMS course was an excellent way to review aspects
of the program that I was not currently using in my present position. It
was also an excellent way to prepare for possible job change, something
that I feel is critical to maintain in the current job marketplace.”
Laurie Hultgren,

“I would highly recommend membership in the OMSA. We are a great peer support
network, as well as a great bunch of ladies (and some men) working in a
profession that is, I feel, very rewarding.”
Tina Powers,

“Being a member of OMSA has allowed me to experience tours of many health
care facilities in Peterborough. Also, speakers at both conventions and
local meetings have expanded my knowledge of medical topics, i.e. new techniques.
Some of this knowledge I have been able to bring back to my job.”

“On a vary practical level, because I have been more aware of education
seminars, and have attended events put on by the OMSA I have increased
the salary of my employees and as such also reap this benefit. I don't
believe anyone has 100% job security and belonging to a professional organization
and meeting other women from around the area has provided me with excellent
networking opportunities as well as providing this same opportunity for
other colleagues.”

“I have very fond memories of all the years I spent with (members of the
OMSA) being instrumental in the setting up of the Certification Program,
serving on numerous committees, and being active in the OMSA for over 20
years have greatly assisted me in overcoming my shyness, giving me confidence,
building my character, and achieving my goals in life. The many friendships
I made are invaluable and very precious to me.”
